Pratley 08049 Description

The Pratley 08049 is 4 way IP68 circular size 2 intersection junction box supplied with glands & shrouds manufactured from strong orange aluminium alloy.

For use with the following sizes of SWA armoured and un-armoured cables:  12 core 1.5mm², 12 core 2.5mm²,  7 core 4mm², 4 core + 5 core + 7 core 6mm², 3 core + 4 core 10mm² and 2 core + 3 core + 4 core 16mm².

Supplied complete with earth terminal, unique nickel plated built in cable glands and inner seals. End connectors & sleeves are available to order separately.

Suitable for surface installation only it is designed  with a number of unique features which make them versatile and easy to use.

There is no need to compound fill the box - it is watertight - so it may be easily re-opened for testing.

Pratley Armoured Cable Joint Boxes - Range Overview

Range of Configurations & Sizes
Available in three sizes, No's 0, 1 and 2 accommodate cables from 1.5mm² x 2 core to 16mm² x 3 core. Each size is available in a straight through 2-way, "T" type 3-way or right angle 4-way.

Unique Integral Glands
Being part of the box body the integral glands cut installation costs by allowing cables to be fitted directly to the Box - no drilling, tapping and fitting of extra glands is required.

Watertight and Pressure Tight
Pratley Aluminium Alloy Cable Boxes are watertight and pressure tight. Inner seals in the integral glands form a pressure tight seal with a plastic gasket and secured by four captive stainless steel screws which can also be supplied with socket heads for additional security.

Permanence Of Earth Continuity
Earth continuity is automatically obtained when S.W.A. cable is fitted. Permanence of the Earth contact is assured by the Inner Seal and rubber Waterproofing Shroud. Together these provide earthing permanence, by preventing the ingress of moisture and corrosive atmospheres which otherwise oxidise the earthing contacts. No external or internal straps are required.

Versatility
The entries to these boxes may be adapted as follows:

• Smaller Cables may be fitted by replacing the gland parts with a reducing gland. Reducing shrouds may then be fitted
• Blanking Plugs are provided for use on spare entries. Thus cables may be added or removed without destroying the watertight nature of the box.
• Unarmoured Cables can be accommodated by using Pratley Compression Conversion Kits fitted in the box entries
• Conduit Tubing in various sizes, may be fitted to the Box either directly (depending on size) or by removing the gland parts and fitting a conduit adaptor

Electrical Connections
Connections are most easily made by leaving 'tails' long enough to enable the electrician to make his connection outside the confines of the box. Pratley Terminal End Connectors and Insulating Sleeves are recommended but other suitable connectors can also be used. Once connections have been made the 'tails' are placed back in the box and the box lid secured. This ensures ease and speed of jointing.
