Astroflame AFFRASOCDIN Description

The Astroflame AFFRASOCDIN is a one piece pre-formed fire & acoustic socket box insert for 2 gang 35mm metal and dry lining mounting boxes. Easy to install it is designed to restore the fire rating of a wall otherwise compromised by apertures and gaps following the fitting of the socket box. This design also restores the acoustic and thermal performance of the wall and its air-tightness.

In a fire the insert expands, filling all of the available space with a fire resistant highly insulating char. The fire is unable to penetrate the aperture and the socket cover is able to give additional insulation protection to the wall void by reducing the chance of heat build up leading to the ignition of flammable structural members. It maintains fire insulation and integrity in plasterboard walls for up to 120 minutes.

Offers a high quality alternative to putty pads. Installation is simple and fast with mechanical fixing meaning no adhesives, no mess. It replaces time consuming plasterboard lining of sockets/switches. The AFFRASOCDIN can be removed and replaced if additional wiring is required.

The material used to construct the socket insert is also a good insulator, which further prevents heat loss and maintains insulation continuity of the wall. It has also been acoustically tested to Rw67dB, meaning it can stop the transmission of sound up to 67 decibels.
