Fire rated downlights are designed to solve the problems associated with comprised ceiling fire integrity when fitting recessed downlights as they slow down the fire’s spread, giving occupants of the building sufficient time to evacuate and minimising the amount of damage caused before the emergency services can arrive.
IP65 downlights are completely sealed with an integrated intumescent materials so that they will both provide an acoustic barrier and protect from fire spread effectively.
