The Zip AQ2 expansion vessel and check valve may be needed if your nearest cold water draw off from the unit is within 4ft (1.22M). Basically the expansion vessel allows for the expansion and contraction of the heated water within the tank.
The check valve is set at 3.5 bar, this will reduce the incoming water pressure and also protects the water tank from any surging water pressures from your water supplier; this in-turn will help prolong the life of the tank and also serves to prevent the expanded water expanding to other cold water draw off points!
- All connections for these accessories are 15mm / ½” BSP
- Check valve ensures a one way flow, set a 3.5bar

You will only need this Zip AQ2 expansion vessel and check valve if your nearest cold water draw off is closer than the minimum intended pipe dimensions as shown in your installation guide for your Aquapoint Varipoint water heater.
