For more demanding environments, metalclad surface grid boxes like M1228 (1/2 gang) and M1229 (3/4 gang) offer sturdy, knockout-equipped metal enclosures that make routing cables through conduit or surface runs cleaner and more organised. Flush mounting is covered by galvanised steel boxes — including DB164 (1/2 gang) and DB165 (3/4 gang) — which are designed to sit neatly within wall cavities and give a solid base for Gridswitch frontplates while maintaining structural integrity. Larger flush box options in the range support extended module panels up to 9/12 gang sizes, with steel construction and multiple knockout entries that simplify wiring in challenging installations.
